The Winter Futsal League (WFL) is back for 2023 with competitions in the Men’s and Women’s divisions.
The 2022 campaign saw 7 teams participate in the Men’s Division, with growing interest suggesting the competition will grow in 2023.
“It’s been a great start to the Winter Futsal League Competition and it will only get bigger and better in 2023 and beyond,” said Football NSW Futsal Manager Jordan Guerreiro.
The WFL was a success in creating a new form of competition that meets the demand to play competitive Futsal throughout the Winter months of the year.
The WFL is a competition that is designed to create a middle ground between Grassroots Futsal and Elite Futsal in which Football NSW and the clubs can engage our Futsal players to have a quality winter competition. This initiative also opens up an opportunity for clubs to get involved to improve engagement with their players and members.
The Winter Futsal season is expected to restart in March, 2023 and looking to finalise the competition in June. Match days will be played at Valentine Sports Park on late afternoon/nights. Fridays & Sundays (Men’s) & Saturdays (Women’s).
